SCG is a specialty construction firm focused on providing innovative solutions specifically to industrial markets including Petro-Chem, Power, Mining and others. The primary focus of our work involves utilizing high strength composites to provide cost effective, low plant impact solutions to infrastructure problems relating to:
- Structural degradation due to age and corrosion
- Restoration of degraded pressure pipe (internal and external)
- Load or design criteria changes
- Seismic qualification or upgrades
- Blast mitigation
- Asset protection from corrosion issues
Company personnel have extensive experience in providing these solutions in the industrial marketplace and over 40 years experience providing customer driven solutions to complex problems. The experience of the owners and employees of SCG includes:
- Specific project experience in power plants, both fossil fuel and nuclear in the United States
- Successful completion of hundreds of shutdown projects in chemical plants, steel mills and mining sites
- Extensive experience operating under 10CFR50 Appendix B Quality Programs in nuclear power
- Long history of operating in areas with high radiological exposure
- Completion of testing and qualification programs for innovative solutions for many industrial sites throughout the United States
- Over 25 years experience providing solutions to a wide variety of industries using high strength composites and specialty coatings
- Expertise in corrosion protection solutions for aggressive environments
SCG has been performing structural, seismic, and blast upgrades using Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers (CFRP) since 2007, installing well over 2 million square feet of material in that time.
