HCL Acid Truck Loading Dock

Project Highlights

  • Extensive damage to slab caused by acid spills
  • Evaluated concrete condition – repaired some parts, re-poured severely damaged areas
  • Applied carbon composite reinforcement to slab
  • Completed repair with addition of specialized coating matched to protect from acid exposure

Project:

A major chemical manufacturer distributed acids by rail and tanker truck. The truck loading dock required extensive repairs.

Problem:

Acid spills had deteriorated the concrete pad around the loading dock. Damage was so extensive that major sections of concrete needed replacement.

Solution:

Removed damaged concrete and coatings, re-poured areas, and applied acid resistant floor designed to handle high traffic.

Results:

Durable floor repair developed specifically for acid dock area. Additional strength coatings applied to high spill area.
